Just wanted an update... who else is still running on ETS extreme exhaust?

Hi guys. I know there has been tons of threads and videos on ETS exhaust but most of them are few years back. I bought an evo x with an entire ets exhaust -- the o2 dump downpipe, race test pipe, and V2 extreme catback.
I like the sound a lot but seems like it's pretty loud for daily drive. Just want an update if there's more out there using this exhaust or I should just consider going to the quiet version..

EXTREME

Gives it away lol. Get something else if it is too loud, but yes, you are running a very loud combination there.

Any other thoughts on the ETS extreme? Anybody there who uses them for daily drive?

You already have it, and want others to tell you if you should go a quiet version? You can't decide yourself based on owning it?

What I mean on my post is that maybe I can get some input from somebody with a V2 quiet matched with downpipe and a race test pipe. With ETS you can just switch the rear axle back. Is it worth spending more than $500 to go to the quiet version especially for daily drive?

If it is too loud for you, then yes the quiet will make things much more liveable. That being said, your other modifications will contribute to the noise level so there is no guarantee you won't think it is still 'too loud' then. But it will be better than it is presently. What that is worth to you is up to you to decide.

Another thing is that if this is new new to you, you aren't used to it yet. Give it time, and see if you get used to it. You might end up loving it and save all your moneyz.

Just get a vibrant resonator and weld it in. If that isn't enough than get a resonated test pipe too. Problem solved.

I might look into that vibrant ultra quiet resonator...

You have a few options if the exhaust is to loud for you.

1. Add a resonator to the mid pipe or test pipe (small difference in sound and drone)
2. Replace the rear section with a V2 Muffler (it will quieter than if you add a resonator)
3 replace the rear section with a Quiet Muffler (will be a lot quieter than other 2 options)

That's exactly my setup! Then again I don't DD my Evo so I don't really worry about the ridiculous roar and loud pops.

How long have you had this set up? Don't get me wrong, I really love the way it sounds but I'm planning to use it as my daily drive beginning next year. Are you planning on staying on this set up for a while?

I have an ETS Extreme with the ETS testpipe as well, though I don't have an open dump (the turbo kit I was planning on buying came with a downpipe so skipped it). Did you get these installed seperately or all at once?

Just asking cause it's really hard to judge people's tolerence levels. Like to be honest, right now I don't even think my Extreme is as loud as most people say. Once again that's without an open dump.

Just throwing that out there, because is it all the time where it's retarded loud for you? Or when the wastegates open? Cause another option could be keeping the exhaust and getting a recirc downpipe?

Background: ETS Testpipe/ETS Extreme Daily Driver (~100 miles a day). As I mentioned in a previous post I made regarding how loud it would be since I go through police stops frequently (literally weekly at the minimum), never got any **** about it yet(which surprises me as well since I feel like I got the trifecta of getting pulled over, ( Loud Exhaust, dark tints (literally at the state minimum)), and big wing. Just figure I'd throw that out there.

PS: I like parentheses.

The exhaust system I have was installed all at once. And you're right, it's not ricey loud. I love the exhaust note. Growls like a T-rex especially when the dump opens. I also have the optional resonator on my catback. My concern is more of the drone, it engulfs the cabin especially around 60-70 mph on the freeway. Literally the same feeling when you ride on an airplane, hearing wise. I don't daily drive it now but would probably do so beginning next year.
The open dump is not much of an issue since it only opens at WOT when you hit more than 17 psi of boost. So I'm leaning towards going to the V2 quiet axle back. only thing is I haven't heard that set up matched with the rest of my exhaust. So the decision is kinda tough.

It's your gearing more than anything. You'll always be at around 3000+ rpm's on the highway. My suggestion is to go 90 everywhere to get you past the drone

For those ETS extreme owners, do you still like your exhaust to this day compared to the first few days you had them?
