o the motor recently through a rod in my car and I need something to get it back on the road while rebuilding that motor. This used motor has 113k on it come with a 3 year warranty and if it blows up or spins a bearing it was only 1400. Doesn't sound like a bad deal too me but what do you guys think. And of course I will be doing some maintenance on it before I put it in the car, plugs, timing chain and Water pump etc. Should I go for it?

 

that's a lot of miles to go through the trouble of swapping I think.. but yea the price would make it tempting..

 

I would at least change the timing chain before dropping the motor in. With that many miles I would guess it would be coming out of a 2008 Evo. Also new plugs and use your coils.

 

How did you throw a rod? How many miles?

Why not just get a cheap beater instead of the engine?

 

Already have 2 at the moment, can't roll around in a Carrola in the winter though, the heat is terrible until it's on the highway.

 

Undetermined yet, motor is still waiting to be torn down.

 

I have a friend at another shop who let me know he found another long block with 9k on it last night, I'm going to call today to get more info on it and will update then.

 

Have found out yet but the car made a good amount of tq and could have leaned out when it dropped below freezing last Saturday. Still Undetermined till I can get it apart.
