Which map?

Just finished installing my last part for my setup. Im running the following with the ap3. The car doesn't get beat on at all so im trying to decide which map is gonna be best to run until im able to get the car tuned which is gonna be a couple weeks due to being out of town and the holidays.

ETS intake
ETS 4in intercooler
ETS piping
Tial qr
AMS widemouth
ETS test pipe
Greddy catback
Grimmspeed 3 port (not installed due to running OTS map)

I have access to 93 octane, so im running it on the stage 2 93 octane normal wastegate map. Is this one sufficient enough, or should I put another one on there? the car doesn't get beat around just until its able to get to a tuner this will have to do.

Cobb has this info on the website. You can install the 3 port and run stage 3 of you want, but man I would recommend tuning it asap anyway.

I was gonna wait to install the 3 port until tune day. Ive got the stage 2 map stock soloniod but everyone seems to think the car is gonna blow up driving it. and driving it and it not seeing over 4k. To me it just defeats the purpose of paying a shop to install parts when you're perfectly capable of doing it.

If you're not beating on it, you SHOULD be fine on the stage 2 map until you get tuned. I ran some similar mods on the stage 2 OTS map until I got tuned, no issues.

Stage 2 OTS map accounts for the test pipe, which is the big mod you want to tune for.

You'll be fine, just stay out of boost, and no WOT. I would try to keep it below 3500rpm. Closed loop operation (cruising, idle) can adjust fueling up to +/-25%.

I was thinking stage 2 added that and downpipe. But I figured things would be fine. I get the changes but not being beat on is a different story. But then again everyone says a tune for a boost gauge on here it seems.

Man you need to stop with 'figured' and 'should' be fine. This is an expensive investment, treat it accordingly. Unless you are running the specific parts for that map, I wouldn't run without a protune. Why risk it? Now you are more than welcome to put all the parts on then put on a reasonable tune, but stay out of boost, and get to a shop and have it properly tuned for the parts you have.

This isn't a mustang, with a turbo car, they are much more sensitive to changes in air volume and flow. Don't damage your car man, it will be an expensive lesson if you cut corners doing this ****.

Good luck.

P.S. A downpipe doesn't do much for you until you get a bigger turbo. You sound like you are applying Subaru logic to an EVO. They are both AWD turbo cars, but they are drastically different after that. So the mods don't act the same on both platforms. Subaru yes, downpipe first. EVO? Test pipe. Etc..

Im aware, it was a simple question on if that map is sufficient. The car gets driven about 20 miles a day round trip. no faster than 55mph. Guess I maybe the only one that doesn't drive the **** out of my car? And when you say downpipe doesn't do much im confused how ets and ams has made power with stock turbo? Weird. Im not sure if you missed what I was asking but I said the car is scheduled to be tuned. with the holidays and being out of town its not possible to have it done tomorrow and when you don't have a tuner that's 3 blocks down the road like a lot of fortunate people on here it makes stuff rough. But I guess that's why cobb produced a piece to help out with things right? I get it now and understand. And what remotely does Subaru have to do with it? Also if you look at my post and or look at the map the mods listed for that is whats on my car. That's where the question comes into play. But I guess since I haven't had my built 8 everyone became sarcastic douche bags on this site? Did I ask for an opinion yes. I also think people tend to forget to read the entire post before hand.

The OTS maps were created for the exact situation you're in OP. Don't worry about it, just take it easy until you've gotten your pro-tune and enjoy the car then!

Man whats with everyone's hyper sensitivity? I just re-read my post and don't find it bashing or angry or accusatory at all, just giving you hopefully helpful advice.

Oh well, if more rainbows and ponies are required, assume I went back, re-edited my last post, and they are in there now giving everyone warm fuzzies and happy thoughts.

Guess this happens whenever its over the internet? Similar to texts.....nobody will get the actual point sometimes? I get it. I didn't see it as bashing or angry, maybe its the fact if whoever reads it would see that you went around the entire question to point out IT MUST BE tuned or your gonna lose your investment. No offense taken. Just like to get some opinions on things since ive read the facts from ets, ams on their products and it was a just a q&a of will this get by. Id like to honestly see someone if possible to break down BOTH ways a/f and all this other nonsense that can be to see exactly "how bad" some people may think it is. Not saying you cant, but I remember reading ETS post they dyno'd before and after with and without tunes. yes tune made more power but the car never blew up with the bolt on mods I have besides they used their downpipe....

Ots maps were created for Cobb parts with some scaling available for other manufacturers. They will tell you to immediately protune anything else. Even a gs 3 port.
