Cat Delete concerns

Just purchased my first EvoX (2013 GSR) used and it came with a cat delete. It really isn't an issue legally in my state but man that smell gets to you when you sit at stop signs/lights. I was wondering how much sound/performance will I really lose if I add a new catalytic converter or if there are alternatives to reducing that smell. This is my first decent car so I want to enjoy it but I also want to take care of it and myself as well

Appreciate any recommendations. Also I haven't gone under the car since I bought it, I've only had it for a day so far I'm not actually sure what model the exhaust system is but it's a full ETS replacement with the delete.

Thanks

Your best bet is putting a high flow cat in. I'm sure it will reduce the noise a little, and shouldn't affect the power output too much. I would however recommend getting it retuned since it will change the exhaust flow.

If you plan on running e85 the test pipe won't really be an issue. Seems to me that it doesn't really smell all too bad when on E85 compared to when its on pump. I could be used to it by now though

Don't plan on running e85 for a while, not very common to find pumps for it where I live :\ Will probably look into a high flow cat eventually

Test pipe is a super cheap, easy power gain that makes tuning a breeze.
My solution is to not have windows down when idling.

Most days I have the windows closed, so it's not an issue.

That's because you are on ACN 91, which isn't even real gas lol

The smell is intense with e85 on my car. I have people speed up all the time asking if I am running e85

If the smell is that bad are you sure you don't have a exhaust leak up near the front of the car?

+1, if the smell is really that bad while you're at stop lights, you may want to check under the car for any exhaust leaks. Unless the wind is blowing towards the front of the car, you shouldn't really be smelling it, since the exhaust is there to get it away from the rear of the car.

I figured all guys did. Sometimes when I spill E on my hands filling up at the track I dab a little on my neck. Should make a cologne, "E85 For Him" I remember as a little kid watching Top fuel dragsters and funny cars and my eyes would start watering from the fumes. It was great.

As far as the OP's question, I did get some smell at lights when I was running 91. With E I can't smell it at all unless I really get on it. The rule is "Performance before comfort & health" So I would say give it time, you will get use to the smell.

My friend ran a high flow cat and to be honest when I was behind him it smelled just as strong as running no cat.
