I drove with mine for a month with no issues ETS claims its ok too, but any time you do a mod its safer to get a tune. You are probably better off gathering parts installing everything and getting the tune rather then risking anything.

It is safe to run it without tune for a while.

Check the ETS site.

It says I there is ok and there is also a thread in here EvoM that someone else already started
about the same question.

Do the search and you will find it.

Buy your parts and install them all at the same time when you have everything then get a tune. Really not worth the risk.

why would you even risk the chance. you can use a panel filter and have the same results on your evo. Until you get it tuned with a 3 port you wont notice the difference. the stock airbox on the evo is good for up to 400hp

Car ran fine on ETS without a tune, but I eventually had it dyno tuned. No real WOT, just putzing around town until I got off my *** and tuned it. It uses the stock MAF housing so it doesn't really throw the ECU out of whack that much. I wouldn't buy any intake though if I wasn't eventually getting it tuned, there is no point really.
