Brilliant! I would definitely look into this. A teacher way back in HS used to do this because of the exchange rate (or something). It might be a bit harder with a new car, but I would definitely try this out. I swapped my Recaros and BBS's over to my FE, but the stitching doesn't match. Originally Posted by DeeezNuuuts83

Are you familiar with what types of paperwork is needed to get a car from there to here? (I'm not.) You'd have a fairly unique Evo that has stock Recaros and BBSs in the FE color that the Enkeis come in while being new. Just a thought.
As for kmh, I bet the speedo also has MPH on it. If not, you can swap that part.
Let us know what you end up doing.

I was also going to look into bringing a car down from Canada, but honestly didn't have the money for that, so didn't even bother. I would be very interested as well to know what you find out if you do some research on the import tax and all that though!

But let's not undersell. I love my GSR, but if I were buying now I'd buy an MR no hesitation. The TC-SST is amazing and a better transmission for almost anything.Originally Posted by LB_Reddy

I would say swapping Recaros into a US Final Edition would be less of a headache. I mean while they're out of the car you could have them restitched for cheaper than you could import one from Canada...although that would be a lot cooler of a story lol.

I've talked to people about re-stitching, and full reupholstering, and neither is particularly cheap (especially reupholstering). The thing with having them re-stitched is that they will never be able to use the same holes, so you could end up with some visible holes from the factory stitching. Not a huge deal I suppose, and definitely more noticeable if you have leather Recaros.Originally Posted by CheMixed

Reupholstering is well over $1k per seat, and I've seen people quoted up to around $4700 for the front + back to make them look like the Canadian FE Recaros!
