But back to the best wing for the X, in terms of performance, hands down the aeromotions wing. I had the static version and i produced huge amounts of downforce and it is by far the sturdiest trunk mount wing produced for our platform. I cant even imagine how effective the dynamic wing would be on track.
I have the r.dynamic. Put it on this past year, hopefully get a couple track days in this year. I'm excited. Screw that it puts me into ridiculous classes, it's still fun.

I'd love to try that s2 but yeah, budget doesn't allow that. Anyway, as we found out from mounting it, you also need a CF trunk or something to support it. The bases aren't evo x specific and will dent/cause wrinkles in the oem trunk when installed. So he now has a custom re-inforced carbonspeed cf trunk it's mounted on.

The R.dynamic is awesome, you should be able to hit some pretty good times with it! keep us updated with the results.
Yeah i've been following yours and madmartigans build on boosted forums, and i saw the issue with his trunk. I guess theres not to many options regarding the trunk for the center mount wing. But in my opinion at that point, for the cost of the S2 and a custom reinforced trunk, your cost to benefit ratio isnt really worth it. The r.dynamic and proper splitter would cost much less and be more beneficial.

I do like the do luck trunk . Not sure how effective it is, but damn it looks good, especially painted.

Why careful opening the trunk??? Do you mean the wing collides with the rear window if you open the trunk too forcefully?

Yeah thats right.

The authentic voltex wings for our car come with a trunk spacer that bolts to the underside of trunk to prevent it from opening enough to allow the wing to hit the rear windshield.

I had to improvise this with my aeromotions wing in order to avoid it hitting the rear windshield. If you look in the trunk, the design is pretty easy to see. Just add material in the place that support arm contacts the hinge arm which is what stops the upwards movement. I just used some sticky rubber furniture pad things I had laying around, it's worked great for a while now.

I would be more concerned about thieves taking my spoiler away. It's fairly easy to unscrew the screws.

Right now I'm planning to have the spoiler fixed with solid rivets. I don't know much yet if there are any more effective ways to prevent spoiler theft.

^^ I was worried about this at first, but after having spoilers on the car worth over $2k for a long time I stopped worrying. Just give yourself some time, you'll get used to it. Thieves can take anything they really want to, and that's why you have insurance.

Riveting the spoiler on will just cause you far more headaches.

True, but there are different levels of thieves. Those who steal cars work like business owners. They know exactly what they are doing and are making a big profit from it. Those who steal wheels, however, are often juveniles looking for make some extra bucks in their part time job. They are vastly less knowledgeable or capable than car thieves.

90% of the thieves are amateurs and can be easily deterred with amateur tricks.

Also, there are no easy ways of scheduling a Voltex spoiler with your auto insurer. It's not as risky as an engine mod, but you will most certainly need to send pictures of your car and the spoiler purchase receipt to your insurance company for underwriting approval. Good luck with that.

Man, you need new insurance then. State Farm covers aftermarket parts. I know as I've had claims on aftermarket parts. All I had to do was send them a link to the price of the part and they paid me back for it.

Just have photo's of the spoiler on your car and get decent insurance and you'll be fine. I don't know what insurance company you use, but they don't sound very good if you're worried about them covering your aftermarket parts.
