Just have photo's of the spoiler on your car and get decent insurance and you'll be fine. I don't know what insurance company you use, but they don't sound very good if you're worried about them covering your aftermarket parts.

Well, State Farm is of course the most awesome insurance company in the world. They insure about 1/5 of all cars and all home in the United State, because unlike some other crooked insurance companies, State Farm pays claims.

Anyhow, if I were a State Farm personal line underwriter and some application comes in with a $$$$ Voltex spoiler, I will make that customer have his spoiler fixed with solid rivets. Otherwise I wouldn't even let him have comprehensive, so there is that.

Speaking of the evidence of a possible future claim, you can simply scan all the receipts and save them to a hard drive/USB drive. You also need to take and save a few photos of your car with those parts installed, as well as the work orders where you get charged by your shop installing them, so to convince the claims adjuster that the parts were indeed on your car when they were stolen.

Just add material in the place that support arm contacts the hinge arm which is what stops the upwards movement. I just used some sticky rubber furniture pad things I had laying around, it's worked great for a while now.

Here it is with the trunk fully open. You can see how that prevents the arm from extending any further. This bought me probably ~1/2" of clearance. If you need more just put something thicker in that spot (on both sides obviously).

Anyway, best looking wing on the X (as that was the question) is by FAR the Aeromotions S2.Dynamic.

Haha that's awesome! "Squeak squeak... Squeak squeak".

"Hey bros, you ever seen a wing wave at the car behind you? Well feast your eyes on this" Squeak squeak... Squeak squeak

I can't think of a better way to destroy your car's class and value than bolting a massive gimmicky wing to the trunk. As you noticed, the stock wing is expensive when purchased new. If you ever want to sell your car, the person buying it probably won't want that wing and putting it back to stock will be prohibitively expensive (especially repainting the trunk after filling in the holes).

Go stock. It has more engineering and CFD support than all the others and looks nice. It has two different angles of attack to make good use of both the air coming over the roof as well as the airflow in from the sides. It's designed to match the airflow of this specific car.

Don't be like the STI's and Hondas.

Dammit, entertain me. I really want to hear more of the arguments that that wing is rice and stupid!

LOL this guy.. yeah okay dude. All wings that are evo specific are designed for the evo x. That is why they are direct bolt on. They all serve a different purpose than the stock.

Ok,

As he won't reply to this. I just want to clarify several things for others:

1) Active aero is very effective. The purpose of the motorized adjustable angle of attack on this wing is to optimize it's effectiveness in all the different aspects of tracking the car. Continuously adjustable angle of attack is far more effective than 2 set angles of attack. I don't know how anyone would draw the conclusion that the only point of the motorized wing is to "wave" at people behind you... wtf lol???

2) The wing sits significantly higher than stock, thereby sitting in far more clean air and not being impacted as much by the aerodynamics around the body of the car.

3) LOL to thinking stock is prohibitively expensive, that is a $9,000 wing. I think anyone who knew anything would be more than happy to buy a car with that on it.

4) The airfoil on that wing was designed by two MIT graduates in a $40 million dollar windtunnel. So just no to it not being on par engineering wise.

5) What destroys the class and value of a car most is idiots driving it who don't know wtf they are talking about.
