That is correct, lower monthly payment and if something did happen that I am unable to keep it, I can always sell it and make a profit.

Very True, I'm looking at either just getting the base with nothing or the Final Edition

what car would you compare normal driving to? I was in my buddy STI but he was mainly in boost the whole time.

I'd say during normal daily driving, it's a pretty average sedan. The power is there if you want to have a little fun, but it's not like you hit boost all the time. I can't really compare the handling to anything else I have owned, but there's the phrase "it handles like it's on rails". If you point the car to where you want, that's where it's gonna go. I've taken 270 degree On/Off ramps at 70+ and the car didn't even hesitate.

I use to have a 350z too and I loved it. To tell you the truth I actually miss my RX-8 more than my Z though. But, back on topic, the Evo is on a whole other level. No, you won't regret it at all.

Can you elaborate on how you plan on making money by leasing it?

Yep, I'd love to hear this explanation too.

let's say its 3 year lease with a residual amt of roughly $24k left on the car. instead of just giving it back to the dealer at the end of the lease (if I decide to not keep it) I can either sell it to car max if they offer a good deal on it or sell it 2k-3k over that $24k privately. 35k-36k mile evox for about $26k. not a bad deal right. I guess I shouldn't have said profit but more like an exit plan with some money on my next investment.

problem with the plan is that residual is around $29k, so it probably isn't the best exit strategy

I just can't imagine ever leasing a car, it's like living in an apartment. You spend all that money, and then at the end what do you have to show? Nothing.

My residual is 21k on a 3 year lease with about 1.5k down. Depending on who the lease is through there are always fees if you don't purchase, and sometimes fees if you do purchase. And you also have to add on the rest of the sales tax when purchasing, depending on your state. Leasing is never a better option value wise per say but it is an option that works better for some, like myself.

If your residual is 21k, that's about 60% which I find very optimistic. In any case, without putting money down and financing the taxes the payment would be around $450 depending on what the money factor is. When you buy the car off lease, you also get to pay tax on the remaining $21k which will bring you back up to around $23k depending on your sales tax rate, at which point there will be no money to be made. So long story short, the exit plan isn't there, and he'd be paying $450 a month meanwhile assuming no money down.

I guess the point is, get the car to enjoy it for what it is. Don't worry about making or loosing money as cars aren't an investment. If for some reason people go full retard over the next three years and these cars become as valuable as supras, then you'll make a bunch of money. I wouldn't count on it, if I'm honest.

Hi, just got my 15' Evo X in October. I had an 05 G35 coupe for 5 years before that. Let me just tell you I do not miss it one bit the Evo take the VQ and Z in every way. Awd, sedan, boost, trunk space is kinda butt, but I never have passengers so my back seat can double as my trunk lol just saying it's definitely a step up. I'm in New Jersey so my G was useless in the winter meanwhile the Evo it's actually pretty good even with summer tires on (and responsible driving) I'm leasing my 15 but my dealership is awesome I can do full bolt ons, suspension and stuff and not loose my warranty. They even advised me to get a Cobb ap for uploading an open source to or just using those maps and that way I could flash back to stock if warranty work is needed. I guess it varies from dealer to dealer, you would just have to talk to yours. I know I plan on buying mine after the lease otherwise I wouldn't have modded it.
