AC blockage?

I had to replace the Ac condenser and one of the lines as they were damaged so i picked up a used unit. had the system refilled and it stopped working after 2 days. thinking there was a leak, i tried to put in more r134 and quickly noticed it didnt need much, but ac wont blow cold. took it to a local shop and they said there could be a blockage because the high side is too high. they wanna charge me 110 to figure it out. i dont wanna do that....

any advice?

Take it back to whoever over-filled it for you after the repair?

well apparently i did. it never needed gas in the first place.vi just assumed it did since it stopped working. bleeding down the low pressure side to normal does nothing for the coldness of the ac.

Adding in more R134 just because it wasn't blowing cold was the first mistake. Overloading the system can cause even more damage than might already be there.

If you've just replaced the condenser and a line, start simple and see if the compressor is working. Be sure the pulley is engaging, you hear the relay switch/see engine idle raise/lower, etc.

Was the receiver/dryer included in the condenser replacement as well? I believe most condensers have that included.

You probably can't self-troubleshoot this one. You'd at least need a high-low dual gauge setup to monitor what the pressure is doing with the AC running to figure out where to check next.
