Does anyone know if you can get the side markers working? I read somewhere on another forum that the harness is still attached. I'm guessing you need to buy a 5amp fuse and install it to work or is it already functioning just plug and play??

 

The chrome markers don't do anything, you'll have to buy some JDM side markers that clear. They'll plug into that wire harness and work like normal side markers.

Yeah, I installed some smoked aftermarket side markers. No need to add a fuse on my '15. They just work in conjunction with the side-mirror blinkers.

 

Just plug and play... no fuse or anything. i think i might have to do this. i hate the weird plastic nonfunctional thing there now.

 

Very interesting... I'm going to have to look into this. I agree, I hate anything that is non-functional and strictly aesthetic, especially on a car as pure in its purpose as the Evo.

Haha wow, they have a wired plug, that attaches to a non functioning marker? Thats a new low for Mitsu....

 

I believe it's because the MR has functioning side markers, so they just did it to make wiring harnesses the same. But I do agree, they should've just put the functioning side markers on all models.

 

Yeah perhaps they should have. I'm not so sure if it was really a factor of cost cutting (since they just left out the bulbs, that's worth pennies) or if it was a poor choice of aesthetics. Lots of cars these days have these fake-racecar-side-slits and some people actually dig em. Maybe Mitsu thought this might look better? :/

They switched them up when the put the huge, ugly, sidemarker equipped mirrors on. Probably something to do with DOT specifying one set of side indicators. Regardless, they should have done better than the chrome warts they came up with.

 

Tbh, I absolutely love that my mirrors have side markers on them. I think they look pretty good

 

Aren't all cars supposed to have working side markers?

Isnt that the law?? Or because the mirror has it instead and its not needed i guess??
