I really need to get into a shop and have it checked out. Thanks for the heads up about Boostin Performance. Where are they located?
Congrats on the new purchase!!
We are located northwest of Chicago in Hoffman Estates, IL. With our tuning packages, we offer FREE boost leak test, pre-dyno inspection, and use of the shop wideband, if needed. We unfortunately do not offer e-tunes, as every car is different. We prefer to have the car here so that if there are any issues, they can be fixed, and you end up with the best horsepower outcome possible.
Let us know if there is anything we can help you with. Feel free to PM, e-mail or call us.

Looks like upgraded radiator fan, so I would guess you probably have an upgraded radiator too... cool!
What the heck is this!? I'd want to guess a catch can maybe? Is it located behind the drivers side fog light?
I don't recognize that whole relay. Is there anything custom about the headlights? I have no idea what that is for?
Sucks you guys are giving me such grief. I hoped to get some help. Here are some pics. They're just being pushy because these cars can be reliable and a blast, but we've seen a lot, A LOT, of people buy modified used evo's and hate their lives as they end up with a money pit. Though so far everything I've seen looks tastefully done. I would ask Cobb about this car considering it's using an AP and running all cobb parts and in texas... good chance they worked on it...
Are those the "catch can" tubes running up there? Where are they going to!? they should lead to the valve cover eventually. Can you trace them out??
Can you trace out where this white with red stripe cable goes on both ends? I see it runs all the way past the UICP connection to the FMIC. I have no idea what this is for.

Where are the "catch can" tubes? I would have expected to see one of them connected here or up by the intake but don't :/. What are those!? Such an awesome mystery, I need answers!
No clue what that is for. Might be worth it to try to trace the other end of that cable. 30amp fuse is hefty, so that must be driving something requiring decent amount of power (i.e. not just some gauges).
Accessport connection That's where I have my AP connected. A useful trick is that the connector can easilly be popped up into the dash (just with a flat head screwdriver). This will get the whole assembly out of the way while driving so you don't kick it all the time, worthwhile to do!
Looks like a phone charge cable but it's too short Definitely a charging cable for an android phone. Most androids have the connector on the bottom. Might have also plugged into a dock or something that he would plug the phone into. Nothing else that would be.
AWC button relocated? Toggle? USB? Does the AWC button work there? If so, then no issues, but strange to relocate it there.
What does the red switch do!!!!??? Flip that ****. Maybe heated seats? Or maybe you'll hear something turn on! Flip it! That's an awesome mystery.
This USB port and the ones in the glove compartment are clearly for the aftermarket head unit. Plug some stuff into it and see if you can get it to work!
Dude! looking back through this: There's a mysterious relay, some wiring that could lead down to a mysterious device behind the drivers side fog lights (i've been calling "catch can"). There's a mystery toggle switch in the cabin that probably ties into all that. Lastly, that "catch can" device has tubes that seem to run up by the intercooler and just stop. I wonder if this guy installed an intercooler sprayer system!!! how cool would that be!!!!!

My guess on the device behind the driver's side headlight...and the bit you can see behind the driver's side foglight mesh is an aftermarket transmission cooler. I watched a video of one being installed, and it was in this exact location. There is a SPAL fan connected to it that I tried to get in one of the pictures. The wiring and the "can" run an external pump for the trans cooler. I don't KNOW that's what it is, but yes, it would be pretty cool.
I doubt the toggle is for heated seats. The seat heater buttons are where they are supposed to be in front of the console cubby
Just noticed I never said that I bought the car in Dallas then drove it straight through back to northern Arkansas...a 7 hour drive. Averaged 24mpg according to the evo's HUD. I babied it pretty well
Can you call Cobb and see if this is some of their handy work? Being Plano Tx (where Cobb is) is located very close to Dallas, and the parts are primarily Cobb's, and it seems that most of the parts were installed professionally, it very well could have been that Cobb installed all this themselves..
I haven't hooked up the accessport yet because I don't know how the flexfuel is integrated, and I definitely don't want to screw any of it up. I will let a shop check it out and let me know what's up. At that time, I will understand if I am able to tune it with the accessport with flexfuel for any changes I might make.
The car honestly runs smooth and strong though. I am trying to contact the original owner to find out more. I had hoped the owner was a member here that someone would know. Oh well...
Hooking up AP won't screw with the settings unless you load a new map. Just plug it up and see if the car has a custom map and if so from who. Would help you narrow down what the cars performance is if you can contact who tuned it.
Do you have a way of monitoring transmission fluid temperature?
And what happens when you flip the switch??? I want to know!!!
This mystery is solved.
What you see in these pics is an SSP trans cooler. Sweet!
The SPAL fan is connected to the cooler core (of course), and what you can see through the fog light mesh is the electric pump.
The 30 Amp fuse wired from the fuse box powers the unit through the relay that can be activated (only when the key is on) from the red toggle in the compartment above the shifter. The tiny red and white wire spanning the front area goes back to the firewall and runs to the toggle switch. Better than an intercooler sprayer, I'd say

Great find and those are like 1100 just for the part, that clean install must have been a pretty penny.
