Query on fuel pump, ignition and starter relay replacement

Hi,

I just bought 3 green relays to replace the old ignition, starter and fuel pump relays.

Is it a requirement to disconnect the battery to do the replacement? Or just simply swap?

It's an ideal habit to disconnect the battery (negative terminal) whenever messing with anything electrical in the car. Just safer that way.
