Honda Civic Type R

What does everyone think about the new Type R coming to the states? Myself personally likes the Honda brand. But Honda is adamant in being front wheel drive and not making a sedan. Until they make a sedan and either rear wheel or all wheel drive I won't be buying one. Plus the new ones design is horrendous. They are trying to hard. Especially in the rear. Looks like the designer threw up. STI's used to have the same problem but they wised up with the current gen.

Ugly but capable. Probably pinnacle of a FWD performance car, but I would only drive it at night where nobody could see me because man oh man is that thing ugly.

I feel like the front could do better if there was actual mesh for airflow instead of hard plastic. One thing I love about the Evo is how much airflow can come in throught the front of the car. Also how all Hondas have to have attached headlights is horrible.

From what I've heard its going to be a 2.0L turbo w 300hp and FWD. So they waited 9 years to release a car that performs worse than the X, STi and the RS? I don't get it. Sure Honda Fanbois will buy it but I'm not spending what that thing costs to get a FWD car. It will forever be limited by its drivetrain layout.

Yes and no, that thing through Honda sorcery is actually supposed to be beast mode on the track even with FWD.

Yep, it owned the Sti's lap times at nurburgring.

10 seconds off the Porsche Gt4 if memory serves, that is no slouch.

Lol I agree with you. It has to have all wheel drive for me to get that.
If it does perform worse than any those 3 cars you mention.
You know what that means, they are looking for Hardcore Fans with
very low intelligence. So sorta like cell phones Apple and Samsung.
Corporations think your stupid, you will buy it without researching.
Marketing Strategy.

Wonder what the price range will be? Fully loaded 33k?

What does low intelligence have anything to do with it? I'd imagine anyone willing to pay $40k for a civic knows exactly what they're getting

I would take one over the current model STI and not think twice about it

Doesn't your description say you drive an 06 Hyundai? Maybe you shouldn't be the one throwing stones ya know...

I hope lots of people buy one. I want more "affordable" sports cars to come stateside and if this car flops they won't. Now we just need Nissan to bring over a re-badged Clio Sport/Cup.

If I was in a position to buy another "sporty" car Id take a Toyota 86 and not look back. Save myself the approx $10-15K and get a better looking car.
