Tires rubbing something!!!!!

Hello,

I've just noticed that my two front winter tires seems to be making a rubbing noise when the wheels are fully turn to one side and the car backs up. my car is at stock height with the same tire spec as the OEM tires. what can be causing this? I don't think this is normal? I didn't pay attention to my oem tires if they made the same noise. Any help is much appreciated. my car only had 6,100 miles on it.

Jack up your car and remove wheels.

It will be very evident were it is rubbing, youll see marks on frame or fender liner or what ever it hits.

Even though the size on the sidewall is the same, different tires have different sizes (so much for "standards" and "engineering" right?)

My 235-45-18 winter tires rub at full lock against the front portion of the fender liners.

Its prolly rubbing the plastic on the inside front of the wheel well. Most likely the tire you bought is bigger then the stock. So im sure if you crank the wheel all the way you will see its rubbing on the plastic that's there. It will just wear itself out or there is a diy on how to how heat and bend the plastic.

Having the same issue on A/S 3+ stock size. Is this plastic piece that rub the tires important? should we be worried if it's worn down/removed?

Most everything on the car is by design. Those probably help with airflow and to reduce dirt in your engine bay.
