So I found a pair of affordable recaro seats but the mounting location for the seats to bolt to the car were cut and mangled to fit in a VW. I'm wondering if the rails or what ever was cut and modified to mount to the car can just be taken from my 15 seats? or if I'll have to buy rails from a recaro seat?

 

Well... the factory silders could be cut and mangled to fit the cheap Recaros but they won't bolt on. If you want something clean, do a search for planted set brackets. They make a bracket that bolts into the X and takes most aftermarket seats directly. If you are OK with sitting higher, you can get a set of universal sliders that fit your Recaros and then bolt them to the planted bracket. Lots of choices, but nothing that's a direct fit except 08-14 Recaros.
