Can anyone tell me if this is normal on the Evolution x I noticed since last year when I bought the car brand new that when you turn the heater on the air conditioning compressor start working too,for some reason everytime I bring the car to the dealer for service i keep forgetting to ask them to check that but I want to see if anybody else is having that issue

 

The air-conditioner requires a compressor to operate but the heater will only use the compressor if you have it on in defrost mode

 

Well the thing is I live in Chicago and right now I have it set just for heat no air conditioning no recirculating system on it and the compressor for the air conditioning still comes on even when I open the hood and touch the hoses for the air conditioning they're freaking cold because the air conditioning is working it's not supposed to be working so what I did is I unplugged the relay for the air conditioning

 

Okay so here's what I found out I switch their relays the one for the horn which is exactly the same for the air conditioning and I fix the problem so it looks like I have a bad relay




So I switched it to the one right next to it which is one for the horn and like I said that fix the problem so the one relay is bad
