$380 for a tune?

Hello everyone,

like the title of this thread, is $380 (quote from Tuner) reasonable for the basic bolt on that I'll have? Should I expect any extra charges?

Ultimate racing duel catback
grimmspeed 3 port
aem intake
ultimate racing upper inter cooler pipe
e85 conversion kit
ultimate racing hfc.

Thanks, your feedback are much appreciated.

Yes most tuners in the northeast charge anywhere from $400-$600. Make sure the car is running good no leaks or anything. They may charge you for a boost leak test or any oil clean up if you leak oil on the dyno.

$380 is fairly cheap. Make sure it's a reputable shop that works on X's a lot. Even just tuning basic bolt-ons, I wouldn't take my car to some random shop.

Yea $380 isn't expensive for a tune by any means..

But make sure this tuner knows what he's doing.. That $380 can also be a quick way to need a new engine if you get a bad tune..

If RS motors is tuning, you will be fine. 380 is a good deal. Mine were in the 400range.

I would think that's a decent price as long as it isn't an unknown shop with very little history.

So off topic - did you get rid of the 350, hanging on to it, or looking to sell? PM me if you're selling. I'm semi-local and in the market.

Good luck with your tune!

Ahhh a little too late. I traded in the Z for the Evo x. It was the HR version, super rare where I'm from with nav and everything else.

- This, i cant ****ing quote and second this statement enough. i had my car at a shop for 6+ months trying to sort out an issue, spent hundreds of dollars on unnecessary ****, finally got tired and took it to a diff shop, paid a little more & voila, car runs without any issues.
