IX owner, what's a X worth??

Hey guys I currently have my IX up for sale. I had a semi local guy offer me a X plus some cash. To be completely honest, I've never been an evo X fan and don't know much about them. Specifically the market for them. Now I'm looking to end up in the 22-24k range, as I feel like the right person would give me that number for my car. I'm wondering how much he would need to add to make it worth my time.

Unsure of year, he forgot to mention it. It has 148k miles and needs an acd pump. I'm a Mercedes technician so I can handle that job, just unsure of bleeding it. Waiting for detailed pictures but he said the car is very clean. I know I don't have a ton of info but just looking for a rough estimate. My main concern is depreciation from the mileage. Here is the mod list:
K&N Intake
Appexi N1 cat back
Test pipe
Eibach springs
Hard upper intercooler piping
ARC Front Mount Intercooler
18x9.5 +23 mb battles
245/40/18 BRAND new tires, about a month of use.(1-2k miles)
Cusco Rear Upper Strut
New clutch
New brakes (Brembo, Hawk pads)
Slotted rotors
Turbo smart blow off valve
Fresh battery
Grimspeed boost controller
HKS turbo timer
LED interior lighting
Touch screen NAV from Mitsubishi
Cobb AP with JR tune from shift fast motorsports
@301.6 awhp with dyno sheet
All records of maintenance and tires have warranty as well
Clean car fax, not even a fender bender
Fresh oil change as of 3/31/17
Motul 5w-40 performance oil

148k miles??? you could sell your 9 and probably get something a little more desirable if you wanted to switch

Well honestly I'm looking to get into real estate investing. The only car I'd truly be interested in trading for is a c6 z06, but that's probably not gonna happen lol. Just wondering if I could end up with a better financial outcome with the X and some cash with it. I feel like it may be harder to sell my IX for 23k being 11 years old. Verses selling that X quickly for maybe like 16??? And him adding 7k.

^ desirable is very subjective. What's desirable? I'd personally never give my ix for an x even if you payed me (except mine is at 35k miles). Every 5th mitsu I see on the road is an evo x, it's a huge problem when a manufacture produces cars in mass for almost a decade bringing down the rarity/resale value/quality. Your 9 with 150k (which yes is very high) is honesty worth more than most x's with half the miles. I wouldn't do it but that's just me.

4B11 is a good engine, well engineered and parts are readily available - but any kind of rotating assembly is going to need some work at 150k miles. Especially an Evo.

Honestly depends on how much money he is looking to stack and how much work you're willing to put into it. If it were me and I had a nice clean 9 that would fetch top market value I'd sell it before I traded for a 10. Cash gives you options - trading does not.

That's a 2008. I would say it's worth about 15k or so with the mileage.

By desirable I'm basically just thinking of a quicker sale with similar money at the end. Alot of people like my car, but not many people can buy it. Especially since the max any bank has been willing to finance for it is 18.5k. Now personally I would never trade my 9 for a 10. But I'm just considering if I could get similar money in my pocket quicker doing this trade. You made a great point though.

I would solely do the trade in hopes for a quick resale. So I'd invest bare minimum to get it sellable for a decent price. It's looking like he'd need to throw in more than he will probably care too though.

Just sell it outright for your figure. 9s are desirable due to the rarity of only being out 1 year. Only really nice Xs go for $25+

That was going to be my next point. As much as I would love a 9 I would have a hard time giving away my X, as well as 7-9k cash on top for a 9 But that's just my experience.

This is the truth.

I've been looking for a decent white Evo 9 to buy my wife for six months now - probably won't ever find one.

Sell your car get a used older Civic to start your other dream / venture. Getting an old used EVO is a recipe for high repair bills due to the previous owner beating it to **** for a lot of miles.

ha If it's the same one that popped up on my phone about a week ago then you'd be crazy to trade yours for that X regardless of how much money he puts on top.

Judging by your location then I believe my hunch is correct. Find another way to invest into real estate bro.
