Oil on top of the airbox after autocross runs
Oil on top of the airbox after autocross runs
I always find a small amount of engine oil (maybe a few drops) on top of the stock airbox after an autocross run.
Every. Single. Time. Without. Fail. Since I got the car in 2014.
I never paid attention to it, but what could be causing this?
Even if there is a leak in my oil cap (I don't think there is), I find it highly unlikely that the oil could be traveling that far.
Could it be a bad PCV valve? I've never had my dipstick pop off though.
Never happens outside autocross but I almost never get into boost outside autocross so that may have something to do with it.
Any ideas? Car is stock.

Oddly enough I had this same thing happen when the engine was under similar conditions to an auto-x.
Turns out that when I replaced the valve cover gasket I tightened them all down in the wrong sequence and the crankcase pressure was misting oil past the gasket on the driver-side and it was collecting on the airbox.
Check that first.
