When im crusing around 180km (112mph) my RPM is between 5000-5500RPM which is very high. I wanted a 6th gear for those high speed trips so i get more range. Now i run out of gas in less than 200km which is around 124miles when im doing spirited high speed driving.

I dont live in the US in case you are wondering.

You can always upgrade final drive.

If you're traveling at those speeds, final drive is probably best bet. Looks like you're built, so you won't feel the loss of trap speed as much as a stock frame turbo.

My bad. Inside joke. A few of us were just having a conversation about using Evos for drag racing.

I actually would like a shorter 1st gear and 5th gear and a long 6th gear. That would be perfect. Thats why i was thinking about the Evo IX MR 6 speed. Not sure if its fits on an Evo X.

Changing to the MR is incredibly costly you'd be better off selling your car and buying an MR. As for sticking with the stickshift you can get a longer 5th gear from jacks transmissions I believe? It makes the car more livable for highway driving supposedly.

6 speed gearset. The ratios don't look like they'll lower cruise RPM though.

Your best bet is a taller final drive.

I guess there isn't really any threat of law enforcement in the middle of nowhere? Or, what could you hit anyway?

We have lots of speed cameras within the city, but as soon as you leave city limits, there aren't many camera. For example between two major cities that is 600miles apart there are less than 8-10 cameras covering that distance. B roads have zero cameras outside the city.

So we usually leave the city limits and go for a drive in sports cars and exotics to have fun. Thats how i damaged my engine the first time trying to keep up with Porsches at 7800-8000RPM in 5th gear

Anyways I ordered a 991.2 1 GT3 to solve that problem. Evo will only be for city runs going from 1st to 4th maximum. Nothing beats an Evo in short bursts and hand brake u turns especially on our low grip asphalts within the city. My Lexus 570 beats my Z06 in a trafiic to traffic race within the City, thats how slippery it is. Z06 cant put the power down until top of 4th gear.

^This should be the right car for the job, possible the single best highway runner Europe has to offer. Some other cars people like for the job are V12 Mercedes's like the SL65 AMG. And then there is of course the Viper ACR if you feel like winning. Evo is usually not a good car for highway runs or GT-type high speed racing. Transverse-mounted engine means only 5 gears for the tranny to be strong.

I would be, however, try to avoid involving in events like that. If you can afford great cars, you can afford to make your life worth living in a hundred non-suicidal ways. If I for whatever lifestyle reason must involve in a highway run like that, I would definitely get run-flat tires, braces for the chassis, a very strong roll cage, and a good helmet with Hans device. Something to think about.

I think OP or anyone who must do runs on very straight Mideast highways in a desert would be better off with something that has a very big and powerful engine and lab-built aerodynamics. He may also consider getting a complete ECM system including radio, Waze, radar detector, laser diodes, airborne collision avoidance system, and possible a nightvision, but all depends on if he has the right connections in KSA
