Evo 10 noob, looking for some advice.
Evo 10 noob, looking for some advice.
I recently bought a Phantom Black 2011 GSR, the car has been tuned on pump gas and has been dyno'ed at 400hp. 28 lbs of boost. The odometer reading is at 49700.
Mods list.
GTX 3071R Turbo
FIC 1100cc Injectors
Detchworks 365 Intake pump
ETS Intake/ Intercooler/ Hard piping
MAP Tubular Manifold
Full ETS v2 exhaust
BC coil overs
Rota 18" grid rims
265's on all four corners
Torque solutions short throw shifter.
Basically I'm just trying to get a feel for what I need to be on the look out for, and what maintenance should be done around this mileage. This is my first Evo and I feel as though I bit off a little more than I can chew. Tips, Hints, Advice anything an everything will help.

I have a 2008 GSR with similar power. If you're willing to keep up with maintenance it shouldn't let you down. If you are just using it as a daily driver then I would change the spark plugs, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, and rear diff fluid (the rear diff uses 2 different fluids) about once a year or 10-15k miles. If you just bought the car and don't know when it was done then I would go ahead and do it now. Check the fuel pump relay to see if you have one of latest versions because they are known for going bad; there is a recent thread on here that goes over them. Adding a PCV catch can can help keep oil out of your intake. Also, the evo x uses a timing chain rather than a timing belt and they can stretch and go out around 60-70k miles. You should be fine for now, but keeping the engine oil fresh can help the timing chain last longer. Don't stress too much haha. Keep researching and enjoy the car. I recently started tracking mine (if you track yours then you need to change the fluids much more often); it just hit 92k miles and is still going strong.
I agree with everything Kevo10 said!! I would get a catch can on that thing fast.... Im running the stock turbo and very simple tune and when i took my intake off i found oil in it at like 300hp... Not that its going to hurt if you have to wait a little bit, but it will help keep her running better and longer.
also, and this is something that might have already been done but there is a little vacuum line that goes from the fuel regulator on the fuel rail to the intake towards the left side of the motor. if you are looking at it from the front of the car, sure it is zip tied at both end. This little sucker has a history of coming off on all 10s and is on of the first things everyone does. like i said im hoping its already done but just check b/c you do not want fuel issues at 400hp....
other than that, be nice to her and she will be nice to you back!
