Thoughts on This 2014 Evo X GSR

Hello All!

My name is Pat and I've been rocking my 1987 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer since I was 14. I'm in the market for a Mitsubishi lancer evolution 9 or 10 with less than 50k miles on it. After browsing the web, without finding many manual transmission evo 9 or 10s with less that 50k, this was the Evo that I want to go take a look at this Saturday 2/10.

Here it is:

http://www.patriotmotorsinc.com/1031...s/Details.aspx

For what I know, this car is 6-7k less that other 2014 evos with ~25k miles. Seems like a great deal, and hopefully the only reason for the low price is Hail Damage. This wouldn't matter much to me, because I can replace the stock hook/spoiler/trunk, or whatever is damaged by the hail, with carbon fiber replacements.

I need help with verifying this Evo. I wanted to take the Evo into a trusted mechanic somewhere in Colorado Springs to make sure there is nothing wrong with this car other than cosmetic hail damage, or even better if some nice fellow on this forum wants to help me out, my phone number is (510) 378-6345. Or if someone on this forum wants to sell their evo, let me know! Thanks!

Thats weird the electrical system had to be serviced and that price is extremely low for a evo that year with such low mileage. I might possibly be interested in parting ways with mine as I've been thinking about it lately.

I'm in the market for one! I can't post on the WTB for sale forum yet, but am looking for an evo 9/10 with < 50k miles, manual trans.

Couple of notes. Why the 2015 Lancer seats on a 2014 GSR? That Rally Red X should have cloth Recaros. I’d say buyer beware and skip this one.

Click on the vehicle history report, odometer has been tampered with and I'm sure there is other issues as pointed out above. That's a real good price if it were a legit clean Evo.

Interesting Evo... Looks like it was owned by a military guy from Pendleton, prob sold/traded the Recaro's when he got rid of it. Electrical fix is prob reason for odometer issues, I'm willing to bet its not a malicious discrepancy. I'd contact the Mitsubishi dealer that did the job and see if they still have info on it... That's a really good price to pass up based on "what if" fears. Could be a diamond in the rough... Get some Recaro's though ASAP lol....

Too many red flags going on with this car! NOT something you want to have when purchasing a car like this. While the price is nice, who knows how much you will have to spend on it fixing issues that may arise. The last thing I would want to do is buy a car and end up fixing someone else problems after dropping that kind of money.

I wouldn't focus so much on the mileage of the car but more so the condition of it. I have 63k miles and counting and I haven't had any issues whatsoever with the car *knock on wood* but then again I'm stock aside from a Works Drop In Filter.

If you're not too far from that place it might be worth taking a look at it. It's funny, when I was looking for a Evo X, this one stood out because of the low miles and low price. But I was just too far for me to go take a look at it and I wouldn't risk buying it long distance.

It should be at least $2,000 cheaper right off the bat because of the seats.
