If you get a different filter that would work but if your going to run a MAF housing you have to retune for why not get our 3.5" MAF housing?

Without the heat shield when the fan comes on the car will idle rough.

I would recommend running this instead

So any filter (K&N) with a 3" opening to the map 3" maf housing should work, I'd mind as well do that before dumping into a new system. Trying to get everything setup before tuning/dyno..Thanks

Yeah, but like I said when the fans turn on its going to idle rough. The 3.5" MAF housing I linked is what I would recommend.

Or get a stock MAF housing.

So you are saying it'll run rough when fan is on with the 3" and not with the 3.5"? Well I do have the heat shield and will get it tuned in. With the drop in universal 3" filter to fit the 3" maf housing should be fine (nothing changed there)? Shouldn't be any complications switching the filter right, and yes the 3" maf housing will be tuned in. I'm just talking about the intake and why the 3" will idle rough with the fan on vs the 3.5".

The heat shield bolts to the ETS MAF adapter. Without the MAF adapter it has nothing to bolt to. So, you won't be able to run the heat shield. That is why I recommend the 3.5" MAF housing or an OEM MAF housing.
