Low fuel capacity!!!! 8.5 gal full tank????!!!!
so I thought Evos just had a small tank. I got the car about a year ago and every time I hit the gas light at 30mpg left I refill. I hold 8.5 gallons.... what is wrong....!!!
If I pull into the gas station right when the low fuel warning light comes on, I can get 11.5 gallons into the tank. Either you're not as low as you think or you have a vent problem or bad fuel level sensor....

Evo has around a 14gal tank. When the car hits "empty" it takes about 11-12gal to fill up at a gas station. Maybe your tank has a problem with the sending unit.
14gal is still too small for a car that only gets 22mpg!
