Unhappy sad day. RIP Evo

Well driving to work this morning didn't go so well. Unfortunately i believe this is going to be a total loss scenario. Was completely stock and had some big plans for her but doesnt seem like thats going to happen. Guess ill be in the market to try and find another clean stock Evo X. Nothing more depressing then losing your Evo.

Sorry for your loss but at least you're well enough to type!

You'll get another, and the dream with live on.

Rev

Amazing to think about the level of attention / work that goes into some of our cars & at any moment can be totaled by another

Thats life! (no guarantees & nothing lasts forever)

Sorry for your loss and i'm glad no one was hurt. There are plenty of X's out there and i'm sure you'll find another, but stock is not so easy. What exactly happen if you don't mind me asking?

Was turning with a green light, off a pretty heavy traffic road didnt see the guy coming when i took the turn and this happened. My fault hands down. But first accident in the 11 years ive been driving Evo's. Luckily the other driver is fine few bumps and scratches. All things considered it couldve been much worse. It's not totaled by the insurance yet but getting hit at 55mph in the front end i think its safe to say it wont be fixable (through insurance). Ive already found another stock 15 with low miles. still hurts to see this one go. But like MinusPrevious said thats life.

Was this at a Left Turn Yield light? I hate traffic blocking the view of oncoming cars, happens all the time in San Diego.

I absolutely would get any parts I could off it for anyone in the evo world. Turns out in Colorado, without your insurances approval, and without replacing what you take out with something, you cannot remove anything. I had the 10" android tablet in it and some recaros. When I talked to my insurance the lot my car was at, I wasn't able to take anything without replacing it with stock or something else. Seems ridiculous considering its totaled and my car still (before it was considered totaled). But I was able to get the tablet out luckily not damaged....somehow cause my entire interior dash was moved an inch out. Unfortunately the recaros were shot as well. Sorry man. Complete waste of a good motor (minus the oil cooler) didn't survive the accident and a lot of good stuff. But yeah onto another Evo, got one lined up already a lot less mileage and stock.

so true. I was in an accident in my evo IX in 2012 and it still makes me sad. Though the car wasn’t totaled, it wasn’t the same and I had to get rid of it. Maybe someday I’ll buy another IX.
