*First post* XS-Power equal length manifold for the X
First off, this is my first post. New member here, but I've been lurking on the site for about 3 years. Hello everyone!
My car has been in a weird situation for the last 2 years being stuck in Florida while I live in Illinois and I ended up needing to kind of piece it back together when I finally got it back from a bunk motor build deal. Story is on Facebook under the page 'The little Evo that could' for those interested.
To the point of the post, I felt like I needed an aftermarket exhaust manifold because the car was tuned with a MAP cast one when I bought it. I still have the origional ECU and didn't know how the computer would like the stock manifold since my MAP one is gone. So I found this XS-Power one. I did some research and I see that they aren't really favorable among the Evo community, but I can't find any information on them that isn't several years old. I saw the complaints about how they're thin and crack, but this one is advertised as having a thicker runner wall. (3.1mm) I needed something affordable, and usually pipe is pipe, so I pulled the trigger and picked it up because it's basically half the price of the MAP cast one I had, and it's an equal length tubular. It just arrived this week, and I'm honestly surprised by how good it looks. There's a little slag at the collected portion, but I'll be knuckle deep with a dremel to get that out before it goes on. The welds look nice, and the pipes definitely don't feel thin. I wont be able to put it on the car until things warm up in my area, but I'll post an update when I do for those interested!
If anyone's looking to pick one up themselves, Joe at xs-power.com can get you set up.
