header options ???

hey guys been looking into options for headers. Leaning toward the MAP cast headers as im not doing a high HP build with the car I've seen a few reviews that the bolts they provide tend to come loose and create leaks? if anyone running these please feel free to give your option. if not what are you guys running ? thanks

I would find a fabricator and have the same product custom but cheaper.

The real ticket is switching to a full V-Band setup but you'll be looking at a different turbo hotside to do that. But vBand eliminates the bolt issue and removing/reinstalling the turbo goes from hours of time to minutes!
I'm not aware of anyone selling one for the stock turbo so you'd be looking at doing the whole shebang.....

The MAP cast manifold is nice you just need to make sure use use the right washers and if you have issues, maybe swap them for some Nordlock washers. Also, it often helps to retorque the turbo bolts to spec after a couple heat cycles.

You will not find a fabricator to custom build a turbo manifold for less than what MAP sells their cast manifold for, or even a tubular manifold. You also couldn't even get a custom turbo kit built by any fabricator for less than an on off the shelf turbo kit like ETS or similar.

I’ve been personally eyeing the Sheepey built manifold on MAPs site.....looks absolutely beautiful & is factory fitment with stock turbo...think it’s even $50 more or less than MaPs manifold. I’m 99% sure I’m going to go with them. The 1% of uncertainty is that I don’t know much about manifolds & “tubular” Looks cool n **** like, that, I also was looking at ETS hot parts kit & manifold looks different from what would fit into stock turbo...don’t plan on buying bigger turbo justttt yet, want to get as much gains as I can with my build without doing so.
I have recently bought an 08 MR stock af just sitting on RPF-1’s. I have already bought an ETS v3 dual muffler exhaust, ETS CAÍ, HKS SSQV4 BOV, & COBB accesport v3 (which I’ll probably sell now that earlier I was reading on forums aren’t as good on MR’s & are better going open source) next I plan on buying coilovers, Manifold, Grimspeed or COBB EBC, ETS 3.5 Intercooler & Piping, Catch can, & maybe some injectors. Hoping to be between 330-420 HP just with all that...cheers to it happening with no issues. Good luck man

I have the Sheepy Manifold and, although it's really a beautiful piece and SOLID, I think I would go with MAP's cast manifold for a stock frame turbo. You can utilize the factory heat shield, it's probably less likely to crack, and $50 is $50

I'm not super happy with the transition from the flange to the header tube which is an issue MAP's casting doesn't have:

Take a look at Morrison Fabrications. If you are interested in a MAP Cast manifold ( Not the tubular ) let me know, $525 shipped.
