Stupid question Time (Jack Stands)

Sorry to need to ask this question.

I am looking to purchase some jack stands (In New Zealand) to do my own oil changes and replace my exhaust etc.
Would these be good to sit the car on along the side rails?. Im just having a hard time choosing which ones to go with. The head of all the stands are different. This set looks to be correct when using the rails behind the side skirts.

Any help would be appreciated.

All I can say that on my car, those would be too deep. The edges would hit the floor of the car before the rail landed in the valley.

If you're mostly going to be doing oil changes and exhaust work, I'd look for a good set of ramps instead.
I agree with Warhawker's assessment as well on the stands however you can get rubber pads for them that close that gap up.. Alternately, get the flatter topped stands and use the unibody rails. If I was made of money I'd buy a set of Esco stands but, alas, I am not.

Thanks guys.

The car at times may get left up in the air as this wont be a daily driver.

The same company lists these stand options. Would any of these be better suited?

Or maybe i just import some from Amazon?

Would these suit?. Also fit some rubber pads?

I would recommend rubber pads for sure. Scratching the rails will introduce corrosion. Wood blocks will also work well as long as the rail is set ACROSS the grain, and not inline with it.

I have used similar Jack stands as the Amazon listing for way too many jobs on the Evo and adjusting my suspension too many times. They work well and have yet to scratch my rails because of the thick coating the jacks have.
You can buy those pads for peace of mind.
These are the ones I purchased years ago paint and all still holding up really well.
