Transmission Fluid Evo X MR need help.
Transmission Fluid Evo X MR need help.
Before you guys say “searching helps out a lot before posting” I tried. Just shows me the keywords Evo, x, transmission, fluid, etc. & a bunch of threads that have nothing to do with the answer I’m looking for.
So, I know that the MR takes Diaqueen from dealer but I also know that it is the same oil but renamed in UK for less as Castrol Transmax Dual oil. I went to O’Reillys & they said the computer told them It takes Valvoline VCT oil &(which states it’s for dual clutch transmissions) & that’s all they had for the MR. anybody know if that’s safe to run? I told them ima hold off on buying till I know for sure. Just don’t want to spend $4-500 at the dealer for oil if it’s possible to get elsewhere for cheaper. Thanks

"Do not run aftermarket fluid. Use only OEM Diaqueen SSTF part number C0002610. After market fluid immediately voids any warranty on the transmission."

"Jack, owner of Jacks Transmissions, also owns a vehicle with an SST that is driven everyday. Jack has spent a lot of time and money trying to find a cheaper alternative to the Mitsubishi DiaQueen fluid. We have tried Castrol, Ebay fluids, and Pentosin. None allow the SST to operate as it should and we have found that the Mitsubishi fluid truly is the best."

Nobody likes spending more money than they have to, but in this case it just is what it is. Diaqueen is the only fluid you should use. I assume you already know that though, but that answer isn't to your satisfaction. By all means if you want to roll the dice with your 10k transmission that's your prerogative.

fine I’ll go by the book then mate, thanks for the reply!!! Truly appreciated.
You can search online and on the FB groups there are people that sell it in New England area for a decent price and get it to you rather quickly. But yes please do not run anything other than the diaqueen fluid. I know it's hard being in NE as it's no places around that are verse in the SST trans. I am currently in CT for work and own a SE so if you have any questions I can point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the tip Jack! Yeah literally have the biggest struggle trying to find someone who has knowledge of the SST trans around here in NE smh. I’m like 25 min from Boston, I need the oil cause I have to replace my timing chain. I actually had an appointment today to get it replaced but couldn’t because now I have to quarantine for 2+ weeks due to coming out positive for freaking Rona smh. (I feel fine btw, thankfully.) As for seeking help on fb, I’m finally out of my Fb ban in 2 days after doing a 30 day bid for commenting a googled hairy *** pic on someone’s post who asked for booty pics. I had a good laugh about it but damn them 30 days take long af to pass by lolll. Anyways, thanks for the tips, so far on eBay Jacks transmissions sells 8L of día queen + filter for $370 + 20 shipping, & dealer has it for $460 so Uark what Im going with since Im no longer in a rush. How much do the locals you say have the día queen for?
