So, it was 90* today and I've gotten sick of burning my hand on my shift knob.
Yes, I know delrin is awesome but I like my shift knob and I don't want to change it. And yes, I need an interior cleaning!
This got me to thinking of ways to cool it down. I parked in partial shade today, but a white microfiber over the knob and still had 122* temps.
So, I took a freezer pack and put it in the fridge this morning. I took it out to my car after work and put it on the knob.
After 30 seconds we were down to just under 108
And at 90 seconds we were down to a very comfy 89*
So the next time you get a shipment with a "single use" ice pack or the next time you're at the store or pharmacy, grab one and put it in the fridge if you have to park outside all day!
