Maybe i buy back my 2008 Evo X mr.

Sold that car like 10 years ago with 11,000miles on it, car has less then 40,000 miles. I would love to daily drive it, i currently own a 2016 Mustang GT which i have as a weekend warrior and a 2013 Honda Civic as a daily driver which i plan to give it to my son which he is going to college in a few months.

Thats my old evo x and my stang 2016. Maybe i stay with both.

Depends what you're paying for it I suppose. 2008 is the least desirable year for the EvoX with the timing chain issue, a single color dash display, and diff pin issues in the trans. Even less so desirable for an MR due transmission updates that were applied in 2010 or 2011 IIRC.

The MR received TCU updates, @razorlab knows more on it.

The timing chain in the 2008's and early 2010's stretches and needs replaced. There is an updated version to use that doesn't stretch. If I had an 08 or 2010, and didn't know if this had been done, I would just do it preventatively, as it can cause engine damage sometimes before you get the warning light for it.

Absolutely no reason to buy a 2008 at this point in time. 2010+ always. The 2014 and 2015 MR's are the best but at least get a 2010.

I understand the thing is that its the only evo x y my country there is no other one.
ive been reading a post regarding high mileage evo x and did not see anybody post nothing wrong with them as a preventive measure maybe change the timing chain at 60,000 miles.
Also i will just daily drive it iam not gonna beat on it.
The other reason is that it was initially mine and the current owner is a friend of mine who also doesnt beat it.
Iam still not sure if iam gonna still buy it. But i would love to have it and share my experiences with you guys.

What other things should i check before i buy it?

For what it's worth - I did the timing chain on my 2008 at about 45k miles preventative - and it definitely was stretched. Was glad I did it before it was an issue.

You can only purchase a 2008 Evo MR there? Well, if it's the only option, then it's the best option. :P

Sounds like getting service/parts would be kind of a nightmare.

I've taken apart 4B11's with the early timing chain with 140-190k miles that have never been opened. I would not worry too much about a car with 40k miles, if it has been well maintained and you know it's history.

I personally own a 08 GSR. I changed the timing chain around 58k miles and upgraded the center diff pins. If you are mechanically inclined you should not have any problems doing this preventive maintenance. I have not had significant problems with the car.
