If you aren't already familiar with the SST (transmission), I would suggest doing some research. It's expensive to maintain and very expensive to fix.

Maintenance isn't too horrendous. It's the "oh, the transmission **** the bed, spend $8k now please."

Doesn't matter what you use it for. Miles are miles and these transmissions are notoriously unreliable.

As long as you go at it with the Mindset that at some point you will have to replace the transmission you will be
ok. And who knows it could last another 80k if not tracked/raced and maintained along with upgraded oil cooler.
I was going for a MR at first which makes a better daily driver then the GSR,
but then Decided for the manual and I'm glad I did has 106k no grinds or anything.

I have 120k original miles on my DD '11 MR and it shifts like the day I bought it. I change the fluid and filter every 20k and don't play stupid games with it. However it is stock and never been tracked. So in that context it is totally possible for it to be reliable. Outside of those conditions though, and perhaps within them it is still a wild card. The trans can be repaired so it's not necessarily a replacement no matter what. It will cost what a standard transmission replacement would to repair it though.

I'd def say you're anomaly. I know about 15 MR's including you. All of them have have needed trans work except yours. Either a valve body, or whole trans due to clutch issue or the magnets coming off a shift fork.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I'll just keep on doing and hopefully it will keep on working. I'm ready to toss some money into it though and let the fun begin if/when the time comes.

thanks for all the reply, but i think im still going for an MR, i don't want to make a new topic so i just going to add it on to this one
i got my eye on 2 new one, an 2014 with 36k mileage only, still under warranty, and another one 2015 with 26k mileage but its a salvage title.
what do ya'll think about the price on an salvage title? i don't want over pay for a salvage title.

Nothing wrong with a Salvage title as long as it was rebuilt correctly.
I would not pay 21k for that
Maybe 15k max

Do not buy a pre-2011 Evo X MR. Mitsu fixed a lot of the shift magnet/fork/valve body issues and that's why the trans from 2008, 20010 and 2011-2015 are all different and not interchangable.
