Coolant flush

Hi guys - just picked up a new to me 13 GSR.

I'm going by Mitsubishi's recommendations to perform all maintenance first - fluids etc.

Kinda stuck on coolant and don't see any good DIY threads... what I do see shows draining radiator but that replaces less than half of the coolant.

I see the following notes in service manual but no idea how I go about these:
1. Remove the air cleaner intake hose. (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner P.15-10)
2. Remove the turbocharger compressor bracket. (Refer to GROUP 15, Exhaust Manifold and Turbocharger Assembly P.15-16)
3. Disconnect the turbocharger water return hose and drain the coolant in the water jacket.

Any good DIYs out there or tips to get a proper flush?

That bracket blocking the return hose on the turbo is a PITA. I don't know if its different for the manual, but with my SST trans there wasn't enough clearance to get a socket on the lower bolt so I had to use an offset wrench to get to it.

Yeah, I would just put in some distilled water after draining the radiator. Get the car up to temp. Let it cool down, drain it and fill it up with 50/50 or whatever is appropriate for your climate. That should get the majority of the old coolant out and let you get fresh coolant in. The coolant volume in the turbo pipes and heater core is pretty minimal compared to the block, radiator, and overflow which should all drain when you drain from the bottom of the radiator..
