Water pump delete belt routing

Has anyone here deleted the water pump? I have a dedicated track car and am running into serious overheating / water pump cavitation issues. Engine is stock.

I’m putting in an electric water pump and I want to remove the existing mechanical water pump impeller and pulley.

What belt routing can I use with the water pump pulley removed?

What size belt?

Thanks!

I think you may be having other issues if the stock water pump is a problem on a stock engine. I have yet to meet anybody with the factory water pump being an issue. Being on a street car, a track car, drag car, etc at various power levels from stock to heavily modified and built.

Part of the problem is that I can only run water on the track. That may be having some impact.

Is it possible your factory pump is failing? I haven't really read anything about anyone having issues with the factory setup even on full race car builds. You can also look at running some Water Wetter or similar product that won't produce a coolant slick but helps with some issues when running straight water.

I'm not allowed to run any additives like water wetter.

I'm currently installing a BMW CWA400 electric water pump.
