Need help was gonna buy a 2014 evo 10 1 owner cause it has 54k miles but then I check the carfax and it shows 2 owners first owner was 2014 and then a huge jump to 2018 2nd owner and then it says it has 98k miles. Could the carfax be wrong

 

Have a mechanic inspect the car.

 

either the wrong vin number or maybe motor/shell has different vins. Anything is possible with an Evo

 

Have you seen the car in person? I'd trust the carfax over the owner in most cases. That being said, if everything else the owner says matches up and there's nothing else that's fishy about the car, it is possible that carfax is off.
