Hi guys,

Recently I've found a popping/knocking noise coming from the back of my car whenever going straight or turning left. Seems to be worse the slower i go.

Another strange point is this problem only seems to crop up after driving for over 10 ish minutes.

Everywhere I look seems to indicate a CV joint problem. However, I recently had it in at Auto Torque for a different problem, they couldn't see anything while it was on the ramp and suggested most CV joint issues are pretty easy to see. I opted against further diagnostics at the time as I needed the car back for work and Auto Torque is a pretty long drive away.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

It's an 08 Evo X ~100000 on the clock.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same issue with the back passenger side of my car and curious to see if anyone replies on the issue. I had the same thought at first that it was the CV joint but after inspection turned out that wasn't the problem. And it's just that side of the car so I don't think it's body flex making the noise. Mine is an Evo X with 98k miles.

 

could be anything. bearing, loose suspension components, maybe strut tower needs new mounts. you should check it out
