Evo x tuning help
Evo x tuning help
So I just got into a evo x like maybe 6 months and I’ve just been using the map he has on with the set up he used bc he said it was the best for the car so far.
Might sound like an idiot but I’m not informed with all this tuning stuff or remapping/flash stuff so trying to learn..
So anyways now I am putting new things on the car such as
-map straight test pipe
-Tomei catback exhaust
-full ets intercooler kit (with pipings)
Car had - straight piped tsudo dual exhaust (that I changed)
Also I haven’t installed my ets intercooler yet but with just the change of exhaust and test pipe my AFR are off the charts, cold start AFR sits at 11-12 and when I get in to adjust how it sits in the garage I see it moves to 19 but for now it’s stored in the garage but when the time comes would I be safe to drive it to a tuner or no?
Before it sat around 14.7, and when pushing it if I remember would just go maybe to 15.5, lmk if you guys know anything that changed it so much?
Back to tuning:
Is there a otf map tune I can use with the Cobb access port or am I going to need to pay for a dyno tune since it’s not “Cobb” parts?
But why I’m confused is the previous owner had a map tune stage 3? (What the accessport shows me) Of 93 oct with Injen intake (which my car has) but he also had some other upgrades but just had a map tune with the Injen intake?
So what I wanna know is can I just use my Cobb access port to get all my parts working together with a otf remap flash and save money or go to a dyno for a tune to make my parts work together and get rid of the accessport and if so what would be the steps because all I know of doing is installing my parts then just going to a tuner?
Lmk your insights and the steps/process of what I should do to get my car running perfect.

A healthy Evo X's AFR is normally around 12~13 cold start, 14~15 cruising, and 11 WOT. If the WOT AFR is higher than 12, your Evo is running too lean, and you might want to find a more compatible OTS tune or to have the car pro-tuned. Most tuners these days might require that you have all the emission equipment in place, especially a catalytic converter.
