Trunk spoiler, non SSS

Has anyone with the smaller, non SSS wings taken off the wing and left just the little trunk spoiler? I'm curious to see how much trouble this would take and how this would look but I'm not sure i want plugged holes in my trunk.

I took the wing off today, that double sided tape or whatever they use is a *****. takes a lot of leverage to get that thing off and be careful as you can dent the hatch quite easily and bend it. Looks good though without it. I still need to get some plugs? Anyone know where to pick some up that would look good, my evo is WW.

The more I think about it the more I want to trade for the bigger wing. My smaller wing has a lip on the edge of the trunk that I have noticed some non SSS X's don't have. Anyone else notice this?

An Evo's gotta have a spoiler! If not a stock one, then a bigger one.

Not my car, but you get the idea.

Now I wouldn't go that far...

I do agree that Evos look much better with wings though

I agree! I wonder how tough it would be to source a new one for a wingless trunk. Or maybe just uninstall the wing and plug the holes..

No its not the Big one.

To uninstall it was kind of a pain, but holes are plugged

Its a 10 millimeter bolt on the inside of the trunk and a 10 millimeter nut tightened on to the stud of the wing on each side of the trunk. There's quite a bit of double sided tape that sticks on to the trunk. You have to becareful when pulling it off as to not bending the trunk out of shape. If you use something flat and thin to get in between the tape and the trunk, you have to becareful not to damage the paint as this area will likely rust.
