Just keep a safe distance in future, my friend.

Anyway, I think the best option is to do a direct swap with a wingless boot, like say the base lancer(should you find an owner that wanted a wing).

The body is weak for a couple reasons. Weight is the main one, but also in a wreck the body absorbs the force by crumpling and so it doesnt pass on the damage to your body and your passengers body. Mitsu had a serious hardon for safety ratings with the X (as seen in the "knee airbag").
There ain't no way that your friend should have been dinged for that one!! Unless he was too close, but ho the heck stops on the Freeway? Was traffic bumper to bumper?

And as for dude's Evo X, I don't think he has the same make up of body as we do in the US.......I don't think the Evo body is weak.... his car probably doesn't have the 3 or 5 mph bumpers and reinforcements like our cars do. An example is when I was in England a guy ran into the back of my Evo VIII and I didn't have any serious damage to my car but his front bumper, both headlights and hood was all jacked up....his headlights had actually fell out onto the ground...and I had some paint blemishes. UK cars don't have 5 mph bumpers......this dude had stopped (completely) and then let his foot up of the clutch and ran into me. I was angry but at least damage was minimal.....(I think dude was drunk too)....so that could be the problem.....

I would think if somebody ran into you on purpose from the back it would be their fault...it isn't like you'll have control over it.....

I agree... but unfortunately in Oregon, they dont care the reasons or any other circumstances, whoever is the back of the line in the wreck is at fault. It really wasnt him following too closely either. He had a good distance but at highway speeds, the dodge caravan he was driving was old and had ****ty brakes.

I've also been thinking of removing the spoiler. Anyone know if/ when an RS Evo X might be released?

I did something STUPID .. when you remove the wing there is a plug in one of the holes that is hard to remove...I removed it by force and guess what!!! it got bent..the area around the hole got bent... i had to put the wing back to hide the bends ..... i'll save some money for a cf trunk

Someone makes a carbon fiber duck lip spoiler that extends to cover the mounting holes, you could try that(if your interested pm me and I'll see if I can find the link)

I'm personally waiting for a body color version of the above. Plugs, vinyl, or stickers just looks bad in my opinion.
