I realize this is an old thread , but I've had my airbag light on since I bought the car. I have an SSL 9. I replaced the seats with newer SSL seats last night and realized i have 2 connectors under the passenger seat not plugged into anything. I don't have that seat rail with the ecu it just looks the same as the driver seat rail. Do all evos have that it only SSL ? My friend says his gsr 9 doesn't have that...

Hey guys I installed 08-10 leather/suede into my 2014 gsr. I put the passenger side in first as the driver side had a crack in the left bolster and sent it to an upholstery shop for repair. Anyways I swapped the bracket on the passenger side and have been driving with it for over a week no issue or lights. Today I picked up my driver side seat and swapped it in and now I have a "airbag system service" message on my info screen as well the airbag light in the cluster.
What could my issue be here? Maybe I need to swap over the seat belt?

Ok so I solved my own issue. I can confirm that the 2014 recaros also have a 4 pin connector for the seat belt sensor. In this case I have to swap that over like the 2015 guys would have to do.

I followed the instructions step by step and still got an airbag light when I put some '13 recaros in my '15 evo. Not sure what else to do. Swapped weight sensors and seat belt buckles. I guess I'll just try again tomorrow.

edit: It was actually the no passenger airbag light and I freaked out when my gf sat in it and the light didn't turn off. It seems to be working fine now.

Yeah.. the key is to keep your passenger and or drive weight sensors.. then its a straight swap of those parts and then the rest will work....

Did you check out my posts specific to the 2015s?

Read on from there. The seat belt receptacles are different on Lancer seats from your Recaros.

I hope that helps.

Or just see if the dealership knows of a way to keep the passenger airbag on at all times. No matter what the drive bag will go off due to the fact you are driving. but you have to see if they can turn that other air bag on ...

other than that i am not sure what else you could do.. hope you found an answer..

hope you find a solution

Just wondering, for those who installed the recaro in their fe or 2015, will the stock rails fit onto the bottom of the recaros. I have the seats but they do not have rails. They only have the four bolt stands. Will i be able to just transfer the stock rails onto the bottom of the recaros?

If you look at the very first post in this thread, center picture, that's what I took off during the swap in my '15 (non-FE). This is the weight sensor on the passenger seat, but I swapped the driver side bracket as well just for uniformity.

If you're asking about more than that, I can't confirm.

Ah, I appreciate it. Yeah I was wondering if anyone had swapped the driver side bracket. I see some posts that mentioned completely swapping the passenger side, but didn't see much regarding the driver side. I saw someone said the recaro's use the stock recaro rails that are already on the seat. I bought recaro's without rails so was not sure that the ones from the FE would fit them. But seeing as you swapping both sides, I'm sure I can do this without a hitch. Thanks.

No problem. If you have questions, let me know.

I looked for pictures I might have taken, but none show your area of concern. Good luck!

Deng. I tried to install today. It didn't work. I'm terrible at description. The sliders are what are missing on the recaro's I purchased (picture 2). It doesnt look like the stock fe sliders will transfer over to these (picture 1 and 3). Looked online and I need the sliders which run quite expensive for the passenger side. I've attached pictures of the bottom of the recaro and the stock seat now that the seat was out of the car. This is all the driver side. Didn't try the passenger side at all yet. Guess I will try and find a deal on the sliders first before I try this again.

Oh, OK, I see what you're after.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, so I can't say. I wouldn't be surprised if they worked, but it sounds like you tried and they don't.

I don't know if you can buy OEM ones or what they cost, but I have heard of people using Wedge brackets. Wedge makes brackets (with or without slider rails) that adapt an aftermarket seat to fit in a car. Maybe their Recaro brackets will work for you here? That's the only help I can offer.

Good luck!
