I also use the Bogen Manfrotto suction cup and have had good results with my Canon HFS100 on it.

This mount works excellent on the outside of the car, but I've had limited success using this mount inside the car.

Since you can only stick it on the glass inside the car, it makes it hard to get a good view angle. In particular it is hard to mount it to the back window of the car because the angle of the glass cantilevers the weight of the camera on the mount, and it almost always falls off and into the back seat at some point.

Here are a couple videos I shot using the stickypod on my old SRT-4 and a friends S2000. Using a JVC Everio hard drive cam with an SD card.

No rollbars, no suction cups, no headrests required! Just a seat with a seatbelt (and a tripod).
Around $50.

I bought one of these from Amazon. Only catch is you need to ask for the 3" extension bar for the camera to be able to clear the window's surface when mounting to the interior.

The suction is strong and I'm tempted to mount it outside the car but scared my camera will get wrecked.

So many good ideas. Might have to give the child hook in the back a try.

This would not be allowed by any sanctioning body that I race/drive with. Don't waste your money.
