Ok it looks like the two small wires that need to be lengthened that cross over the valve cover consist of a pink 16 or 18 gauge and a black 18 or 20 gauge (pink one is slightly thicker than black one, so it's 16pink 18black or 18pink 20black). geezevox can I see a pic of your wire tuck please? I'm trying to get ideas for the main harness that splits off to the injectors... the wire loom is a huuuge fatty, don't know what burnings did with his but it's nowhere to be seen anymore in his bay

You got it!!! I think burnings put them under the fuel rail. You are right I can't see any wires on his pic.

I will get you a pic and how to as soon as I get the car back. It is getting turbo and other goodies. Will have it back on 20 Mar. I know...I know, it was stupid of me to do this and not take pictures! My harness still shows, and it doesn't look anywhere near that good, but my main concern was the two wires laying on the valve cover.

I've decided this is exactly how I will do mine:

I'll leave the big fatty alone and just hide them as soon as they branch off towards the injectors. This is the most sane approach to a wire tuck on the Evo 10's... anything above and beyond this requires a ton more work, but the hard work definitely shows (example: burnings).

This is probably what i'm going to do too. Can you post some pics/tips after you get it done? It'll be helpful to a bunch of people i'm sure.

Yep. Will get to it this weekend hopefully while I wait for my manifold/turbo/downpipe bolts to soak in PB blaster.

Edit: upon further review of the play, the pink wire is definitely 18 or 20 gauge (will find out for sure later) and the black is either 20 or 22 gauge.

Ok wire tuck is complete with the exception of extending the two little wires I talked about.

I took some of the guess work out on what you can and can't do with the factory lengths by trying out a ton of different routes.

In the end, my final tuck will require cutting only those TWO wires I talked about and extending them, you can leave every single plastic tab on the harness so that the whole thing can be reversed back to stock with the ONLY difference being the 2 small wires being extended.

Here's the two that need to be extended:

Yes, hands are dried up from wiping oil off then getting oil on again and wiping it off, etc. I will take a trip to Bath and Body Works and get me some lotion next time.

PS: valve cover doesn't need to be removed so don't panic! I had mine off for powder coating and it's back on now.

Teaser shot for now... this is with absolutely NO modification to the harness whatsoever, not even the extension yet. This is a product of tucking only. I left the factory harness alone, including all clips... I just hid them.

Yeah I'm working on it, I have pictures documenting what I've done so far... but will make a how-to including lengthening the wires I have yet to lengthen, unless someone beats me to it.

I'm going to look for suitable wires tomorrow. I don't want to use regular speaker/audio wire because I want to make sure the insulation can safely handle the heat, otherwise I'd have this done already...

Frankiago, sorry I couldn't get my car back in time to hook you up with some pics. You did it exactly as I did, but I didn't take the valve cover off As for the wire insulation, I wraped mine in heat reflective tape....but did use speaker wire. I am thinking of ordering some of that DEI heat sleeve and taking the tape off.
