How to remove Side mirror covers?

I have a 2010 GSR. I want to remove the ugly Chrome mirror covers and paint them black. Anyone know how to get them off without breaking them?

There's little clips that you have to get to that hold it on. It's hard to type and explain it to you. You'll need a long screw driver. There's two you can get at from the top of the mirror and one on the bottom. But after you get the two top ones unclipped it will usually pop off. It's a major pain to do.

The easy way is to just remove the mirror element. Pull it outward from the bottom and it should just unsnap. Then you can see all of the clips for the mirror cover.

get a small , bright flashlight and look inside of the housing

around the outer edges of the mirror.

you will see the tabs/clips that need to be pushed to get the cover to pop off.
