I done it without removing the bumper. I had to squeeze my hand through fender well and got bunch of scratches on my hand but it's doable. If I had to do it again, I would remove the bumper......

no need to remove the bumper...I can swap out the bulb in under 5 minutes...unbolt the smaller of the two relay box and move it aside on the driver side and unhook the coolant reservoir on the passenger side. Once thats done, you can put your hands in there...Passenger side is a bit tighter though...

removing the front bumper is really esay and if you do that you can easy install in a perfect location the ballast of the kit.

I did both without removing bumper. As NRG said you'll need 10mm rachet to get off the relay box on driver's side. Move coolant resovoir. It's tight but certainly doable. I run Philips 6000K Ultinon bulbs. Much better than OEM.

I also run the Philips Ultinon...NOT CHEAP!!! So be careful putting it in...

It only goes in one way CORRECTLY. There is a notch that aligns to the housing. Make sure the angle is correct as it is easy to put it in at the wrong angle and be able to secure the fold over latch. The way I made it easier is I take a picture of it after I install it to see if it is aligned to the notch and is angled correctly. You won't be able to see it as your head won't fit in that space, so use a camera.

If the angle is wrong, you will know right away when you turn on the HID, as the light output will be dimmed as it is pointing somewhere else inside the housing...

all cars ive owned required you to remove the bumper. the first few times i tried without it and later on i saw how much easier it really was to just remove it

I got super slim ballasts and was able to mount them on both fender wells under the hood. My car was brand new at the time the last thing I wanted to do is start taking it apart. Ill see if I can snap a couple of pics n post them.
