Remove Factory Hid bulb?

Does anyone know how to remove the factory HID bulb from 2010 Evo x projection headlights? Do you have to remove the whole light assembly?

Thanks.

Its really easy to get the headlight out, it requires the removal of the front bumper but is like a 5 min process. Search the forums for details, I've seen a write up and suggest this way, just so you don't happen to mess anything up, better safe than sorry

Just did mine earlier today, I didn't have to remove my bumper/headlights. Just removed the coolant reservoir on the pass side and the small fuse bracket on the driver side to free up some room to get my hands in there.

After removing the round plastic caps you simply twist off the HID connector. Then unhook the 2 wire clips that hold the bulbs in place (although this can be infuriating to someone who doesn't know how D2S clips work). Since you can't get an angle to see them you have to do this by touch, and then pull the bulb out. Then do that in reverse (when installing the new bulb, remember that the "notch" on the plastic part of the bulb should be oriented up). Took me about 10 mins total.

My new 8000K's look fantastic. I'd recommend trying this first before a full blown bumper removal. Wasn't too hard, but I've replaced many D2S bulbs before.

That may work for someone who has girly sized hands, but I've got meat stubs for hands, and there is no way I can get my hand there.

Very expensive bulbs...I needed one asap and was able to get one at a reasonable price from O'Reilly Auto Parts the same day!
