rexspeed front lip install help please
Hey, not sure which lip you have - I have the Type F (I think that's what it was - basically a CF direct replacement for the factory one).
Anyhow, I imagine the install is same for either...
(1) Remove the front undertray. There are several 10mm bolts along the front edge and about 250,000 clips underneath. Fortunately, you can "get away" with only removing about 150,000 on the front section of undertray (it comes off in several pieces). In all seriousness, just remove the entire frontmost section of the undertray. I think that it is comprised of three separate parts, but if you're lucky, you can remove just the right clips to pull all three off together.
(2) Once the front section of the undertray is removed, you can see/access the inside of the front, unpainted plastic lip that is on the car. If you look up inside the lower section of the front bumper, you will see the (eight?) or so screws that attach the factory lip. Unscrew all of those screws.
(3) From back out front of the car, carefully but firmly pull out on the lip. It may be of some advantage to reach up inside the bumper again at the same time to help push out on the several tabs that are holding the lip snapped in place.
The tough part about this part is that it is pretty firmly attached with these tabs all the way across and it's not easy to just start one side and work your way across. (The best way is probably to have a friend help and to each pull outward on one side).
After that, you should just reverse the process with the Rexpeed piece.
No disrespect to them, because almost everything I've bought from them is great (and I've always had excellent customer service), but my factory replacement CF lip was not precisely fit to make a tight gap along the upper edge with the painted part of the bumper. I used some 3M double-sided tape to fix it where it needed to be. Also, I'm pretty sure that I must've gotten the prototype lip from them as well, since the screw bosses seemed like they were made out of poorly mixed plaster, and many of them completely disintegrated when I screwed the screws into place (we're talking, they crumbled before the screws even snugged up the piece to the bumper...).
Anyhow, good luck!
Post up some photos once you get it installed and let us know how the install was!

sorry for not giving proper info hah was doing it from my cell phone, its http://www.rexpeed.net/new2007/produ...php?serial=177
thank you for write up
tomorrow i plan on installing it then.
It's similar to mine, the holes are sorta ****ty looking and may crumble like yours. However the weave quality looks quite good. They didn't supply any 3M tape so i'll have to find some :/ I don't want to use the push pins they gave me really and don't have the tool for that.

You can usually get away with using a broad-tipped standard screwdriver to get the push-pins out. The ones that become a little tough are the ones in the deep recesses.
Nevertheless, you should be able to get them out without too much problem.
Good luck!

Hey man I have the exact one on mine. I'm not sure about the others experience, but mine had 3m tape under the factory aero lip right in front of the fog lamps!! Had to get under there with a flat head screwdriver to get it to come off. I drilled holes in the bottom side of the lip and was able to bolt it up to the factory bumper where it curves around to go down the side towards the front tire. It has a good flat surface on each and I have two bolts on each corner so it's not going anywhere. Used 0 parts that it came with. Also I put some of the red 3m double sided tape down directly in front of the fog lights (like factory) and down the side of the front bumper. There is a flat surface on the inside of the CF lip that looks like it's actually what it's meant fo (Also use some in front of the intercooler to hold it down and against the black trim). Alignment isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn close.
I would go ahead and pull the bumper OFF if I were you. Made it MUCH easier for me to work with. Hope this helps. you can see mine installed on my avatar pic
