Nice.. that doesn't seem bad at all. Wish I had a shop around here that could do something like that.

I've read they are plug and play if you have two harnesses. If you search google you will find a lengthy write up on how it's done.

Couple questions i have are, does this (flickering problem) apply to the 2011 models as well? I was reading up on another forum where someone stated that the flickering issue didnt apply to 2011 models since there are no longer DRLs in them.

Also, if you installed this hd kit yourself. How difficult was the process?

In the meantime ill be looking into your method as well since it would make sense to just apply an aftermarket hid kit on oem projectors to skip the hassle of other methods that i have seen posted but seem complicated.

Thanks again.
Thinking about doing this just wanting to know if anyone put oem sss headlights in a non sss 2011 GSR thanks.....

I'll piggy back on this... If, I swap SSS HID's into my non SSS, i'll have the flicker issue.. But is this only on the DRL's and cant I just leave the headlights on all the time?

Not to thread jack, but I currently have a set of OEM SSS lights that have been retrofitted with FX-R projectors and the Mishimoro HID kit using a jRox harness in my non-SSS car. Everything is PnP and works like it would from the factory. I'm leaving the evo community and currently parting out my car. If anyone is interested, let me know, its a hell of a lot cheaper than $2500.

youll need a new HID kit and the jRox harness for your headlights to function like they would from the factory. Thats the definitive answer youre looking for.

OR...you could just buy my lights I mentioned in the post before yours.

It's not possible to take SSS factory HID's and install them on a non SSS car? I've read about the Jrox harness, but I thought that was only for the flicker in the DRL. That if you just leave the headlights on, it's not an issue

theyll still flicker if you leave them on. I tried this shortcut before I went all out with my headlights. 1/2 the time one of my headlights wouldnt come on. I'd have to turn the car off, turn on my headlights, then start the car again. However even then, If i pulled up to a wall, I could see them flickering away.

Is this the same for everyone or just an isolated incident?

who knows. However, i've yet to see a non-SSS car install SSS lights without having some sort of issues.

Fair enough... The little info I've found stated just the DRL issues only... Thanks for the input!
