Lightbulb AEM Boost Gauge & Rexpeed Steering Wheel Carbon Pod (Evolution X)

So I been searching for a while on what kind of Pod setup to go with. I like the whole 3 Pod pillar thing that goes on the side of the driver, but I'm not really needing those other gauges. For now I just need the boost gauge. So I ran into all kinds of pods but wanted something with a better flow and stock looking. Nothing to crazy. Thats when I ran into a Rexpeed Steering Wheel Pod, i had the same design going on my Audi A4 & thought this would be perfect for me.

But one things Rexspeed doesn't tell you is that the bezel surrounding the AEM boost gauge doesn't NOT sit flush with the steering wheel pod. I've noticed it gets in the way of the steering wheel when making turns. So before i threw it across my apartment I looked up to see if any body else had problems like this.

So I ran into this https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...arbon-pod.html
I noticed he ran through the same issues but went with a different design and not using the bezel that came with the AEM gauge, but i like the silver look & spent an hour trying to figure out on how to use it. Sooo after brain storming and having my little niece tell me "Why don't you glue this to the back..?"

:::LIGHT BULB:: Not really the best of ideas but i thought it looked pretty good with the end result. My car is currently in the shop getting a Competition Stage 3+ Clutch setup w/ flywheel but once I get it back I will post up pics of the finally result. Once again very simple idea so let me know what you think. Thanks

Thanks to Dan from Boosted Racing with hooking me up with the AEM Digital Boost Gauge. Great prices + Fast Shipping ! http://boosted-racing.com/default.aspx

Looks great, but the bezel sticks out to far.

Started by taping the bezel so i can secure the position.

Now i just placed the position on where I want to start gluing it

Apoxy the hell out of it, cause you never have to much -_-

now its sitting flush, got it to where i want (take your time)

Let it dry over night

removed tape and BAM !

BAM ! That just happened -_-

flushnesssssss Now I wont have problems turning my wheel and still get a stealth look.

Let me know if you have any questions. Later !

I bought the rexspeed dual steering column mount gaugepod and the AEM Wideband and AEM digital Boost gauges and they wouldnt even fit through the holes so i used my dremel tool and made the big enough so they fit inside and i mounted them like they are supposed to and the gauges dont get in the way of the steering wheel! I came across this after i already purchased them and i was like damn. However it still sucks that I had to dremel the holes bigger considering the mount states its for 52mm gauges but i guess it could have been worse! Good write up here though.

AEM gauges are actually closer to 51mm I've noticed, too. Better to make the holes slightly too small than slightly too big I guess.

I had that same pod set, I liked it, but I felt like I couldn't see my gas gauge.

I can see why Rexpeed wouldn't have thought about that with AEM, since AEM guages are the only ones with bezels that big. However, i LOVE that flush look you did. That looks good dude.

I was thinking about going with the steering wheel pod but now I am starting to lean towards the pillar pod. Thanks for the help and good write up.

i know people talk about the pillar gauges as "rice" but i believe that its the cleanest and easiest out there to work with.

You said you got a great deal so I checked it out for kicks. Idk how much the boost gauge goes for but they are selling the wideband for $100 more then what I paid 0.o
