Honestly, I am not sure how much it really makes a difference for what most people use it for....In F1 etc where you are fighting for .01 sec everwhere over the course of a race then sure. People at the top of Karting also swear by it.
Most people racing time attacks or autocross are not consistent enough with their driving to take advantage of the benefits.
For that matter, (since it is the topic of this thread), the big time racing series have the wheels pretty much tucked under the body work to avoid the aero drag. Admittedly, autocross speeds are much lower but illustrates differences between levels of racing.
Well, it is not just O2 your trying to get rid of...ambient air is a combo of nitrogen, C02, O2 etc....BUT, you should be able to rotate the tire where the stems are at the bottom so that the nitrogen rises to the top of the tire and the heavier air is forced to the bottom.
